Elsa Nilsson
Swedish born, New York Based flutist and composer Elsa Nilsson (she/her) is the recipient of the 2022 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grant for "Pulses", a project exploring the connection between jazz and poetry with Maya Angelou and co-leader of Esthesis Quartet.
She has performed at Winter Jazz Fest, Blue Note, 55 Bar, Bar Bayeux, Nublu, Jazz Gallery and more. She has released 7 albums as a leader/collaborator and has been reviewed in Downbeat, Jazziz, All About Jazz, Textura etc. Nilsson is adjunct faculty at The New School where she teaches Rhythmic Analysis and Socially Engaged Artistry.
