FINALE OF THE 2024 TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

We recently wrapped up the 2024 Keychange U.S. Talent Development Program with two impactful days in Los Angeles at the jump.global summit! This inspiring conference brought together our incredible cohort of 25 women and gender-expansive artists and innovators from across the country to focus on community building, mental health & wellness, and championing gender equity and inclusion in music.

On the second evening, November 19, we celebrated with a finale showcase and mixer at Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood, in partnership with We Found New Music and Showcase Daily. The event featured live performances by KCUS Artists Rachel Laven, Maisyn, and Ladibree. A heartfelt thanks to jump.global and all of our partners who supported this inspiring week.

Keychange U.S. Announces 2024 Cohort

Keychange U.S. is thrilled to share the 2024 Cohort of women and gender expansive artists and innovators joining the Keychange U.S. Talent Development Program. Twenty Five participants were selected this year from Los Angeles, NYC, Nashville, Austin, and Atlanta and will partake in a six month long career development program in the form of meetups, networking, virtual professional development sessions, and showcase or speaking opportunities at partner conferences and festivals.

Our Founding Donors Tunecore and Believe have partnered with MIDiA to unveil the fourth installment of our annual BE THE CHANGE: Gender Equity in Music study! In order to gather meaningful data on a global scale, the survey is translated into 14 languages and approaches the topic through an intersectional lens. The study aims to explore their perspectives and challenges in-depth and help develop clear, actionable items with the goal of affecting change throughout the industry. TuneCore/Believe Release 2023 Be The Change Study: Gender Equality In Music Industry

In celebration of International Women’s Day, TuneCore and Believe unveil the third installment of their annual BE THE CHANGE: Gender Equality Study in conjunction with Luminate. The flagship study, which launched in 2021, continues to shed light on issues surrounding gender discrimination, bias and inequality within the music industry across all job functions, from artists and producers to managers and executives. This year’s edition of the study, with over 1,500 members of the music industry surveyed, is the most expansive yet, inclusive of feedback from participants representing a total of 109 different countries.

Keychange Shares Pledge Updates & Pledge Action Plan for Gender Balance in the Music Industry

Today, Keychange the pioneering international initiative for gender equity in the music industry, shares an update on the progress of the Keychange Pledge and reveals its Pledge Action Plan outlining next steps. Featuring feedback provided by more than 200 global pledge signatories over 5 years, the Pledge Action Plan has been created by Keychange based upon data analysis provided by Erasmus University Rotterdam. The action plan highlights progress made, challenges faced, and the next steps required for Keychange to continue its work in reaching gender equity in the music industry.

Ariel Hyatt, Founder of Cyber PR launched a new blog in honor of International Women's Day and invited 23 women leaders to contribute predictions for indie musicians and marketing trends in 2023. Our Program Manager, Andrea DaSilva, provided the prelude, highlighting the work of sister organizations in gender equity and music, noting that the industry will lose out if they do not recognize the impact of female-led businesses and the dire importance of including BIPOC and gender expansive persons in marketing plans, to reflect the world we live in.
