MLissa Baker

Austin | Music Industry Consultant

M’Lissa Baker (she/her) is a marketing generalist with a music industry soul and a toolkit built from field experience, brand strategy, and a little MacGyver know-how. She got her start in commercial radio—before embarking on a career that’s included music publicity, artist development, and label marketing. Her path has woven through music, tech startups, retail, and nonprofits—but always with a common thread: community-building, creative storytelling, and championing underrepresented voices. She’s led regional marketing for Whole Foods Market, launched the first field marketing programs for Orchard (real estate tech) and BeatStars (music tech), and revitalized Hunger Free Colorado’s groundbreaking Hunger Through My Lens project through multimedia storytelling, including a VR short film. M’Lissa is equally at home developing national campaigns as she is mentoring marketing and data-based creative strategy or providing her voice or experience to a panel. She’s a member of The Recording Academy’s Texas Advocacy Committee, Women In Music, and Music Managers Forum – US. She also offers pro bono consulting to emerging artists looking to grow their presence organically—without losing their voice.
