Queen Esther

Queen Esther (she/her) embraces lost American history along with her wide- ranging and ever changing aural influences, as she leans heavily on the bluing of the note to create reclamation-driven Black Americana and jazz. She has written, produced and self-released five critically acclaimed albums, with official artist showcases at Americanafest and Folk Alliance International, performances at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and The Obama Foundation, and The Black Opry.

A member of 2023 Joe’s Pub Working Group, 2023 Western Arts Alliance’s Performing Arts Discovery Program and 2022 Global Music Match, she is the recipient of the 2021 NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music and Theater, with a TED Talk that delves into the true roots of country and bluegrass. A WP Theater PlayLAB Playwright in Residence, her play The Tears of a Megyn premieres Off-Broadway in Spring 2024.
